The truth is, we're still living in a patriarchal society. Someone says Mandela, Tambo or Sisulu and the mind automatically defaults to Nelson, Oliver and Walter. As a controversial online radio station that challenges traditional thinking, Cliff Central wanted to use Women's Day to spark an ongoing conversation and to remind listeners about the significant female power behind the struggle. And to celebrate the legacy of Winnie, Albertina, Adelaide, and the many other female Comrades who sacrificed everything for their husbands to pursue their political ideals, we created a poster campaign that honoured their efforts and made people think differently about female struggle heroines.
